Watch 'Glee' Star Darren Criss Sing 'A Whole New World' Acoustic-Style (VIDEO)

"I am beside myself with joy," tweeted "Glee" star Darren Criss yesterday. "I got to sing with @MsLeaSalonga for one of my musical idols, @AlMenken today. Freakin out right now."

It's now time for the Gleeks to start "freakin out," as video of Criss singing an Alan Menken classic has hit the Web. During the award ceremony that granted Menken with the 2011 Maestro Award, Criss sang a bit of a Menken/Disney medley, including an acoustic version of "A Whole New World" from "Aladdin" with Lea Salonga.

Lest you think the choice of Criss as the official Menken serenader is completely out of left field, consider that Criss made a habit of covering Disney songs acoustically and putting them on Youtube before he rose to fame on "Glee." He's an expert in the field of Alan Menken covers, people. Believe it.
