Now that "Breaking Bad" is gone and no one seems to care about "Mad Men" any more, it looks like "Game of Thrones" is eligible to be anointed as the best show on TV. It's fitting, then, that fans might want to join their love for the inhabitants of Westeros with their love for their favorite theatrical movie of the year so far. That's what singer Gail Folsom did with "Let It Go(T)," a musical mash-up of "GoT" and the theme from "Frozen."
The YouTube video for the song is flirting with virality—it's had about 200,000 views as of Easter Sunday—but it's definitely getting the attention of "GoT" fans with lyrics like "Who's the hero on this show?/Tyrion?/That new guy?/Even book readers don't know!" The song's lyrics, which were written by Folsom (a self-described "inexpert, overly ambitious seamstress, singer, chef, artist, socialite, silent film star, playwrite, poet, liar" who is probably about to get a bunch more Twitter followers), Joanna Robinson and Dave Gonzales, play with "GoT"'s extensive cast of characters, its extensive nudity, and HBO's problematic Go Streaming service, all of it set to the tune of the song made famous by Idina Menzel (also known as Adele Dazeem). The video for the song was edited by David Chen.
Viewers should be aware that the video contains some spoilers from the beginning of "GoT"'s current fourth season.
