Watch Four Minutes of 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes'

Wanna know what happens when you piss off an ape? Very bad things, my friends, very bad things.

In a brand new extended clip from the forthcoming "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," Andy Serkis (aka Smiegel of "Lord of the Rings" fame) introduces us to his latest CGI character, Caesar, an ape that has been raised from childhood by Charles (John Lithgow) and Will (James Franco).

When Lithgow's character accidentally ends up in the wrong car due to Alzheimer's, Caesar ends up aping out big time in order to protect him from the angry car owner.

It's really more of a highlight reel meant to showcase the film's groundbreaking use of CGI innovations to make Caesar more human, and there's no doubt the effects are impressive. Let's just hope this latest prequel installment in the "Planet of the Apes" saga is better than Mark Wahlberg's messy 2001 reboot.

"Rise of the Planet of the Apes" goes into wide release August 5th. Watch the extended preview clip here:
