Watch the Sickly Sweet First Trailer for 'Girl Meets World'

The first trailer for "Girl Meets World" is here. And frankly, we're not sure what to think.

The 30-second teaser for the "Boy Meets World" spinoff has everything that a growing Disney Channel show needs: Two fashionably-dressed teenagers with just the slightest hint of rebellion, a loving but buzzkill dad, heart-to-heart talks and inspirational messages. Oh, and purple. Lots and lots of purple.

But will the show lack bite? There's certainly nothing here to indicate that that "Girl Meets World" will have any of the real laughs that came with "Boy Meets World." And will Cory and Topanga still be adorable now that they're married? Or will they, like this teaser indicates, just play the typical supportive Disney show parents who dole out advice with an arm around the shoulder?

Also, has Cory aged at all since "Boy Meets World?" Seriously, what face moisturizer is that guy using? Because we want some.

The Internet at large almost exploded when news of the spinoff came out, so with any luck for the Disney channel, those fans will come out in force and support the show, even if the start is rocky. Also, though this teaser isn't a strong first showing, it might be more the fault of the Disney Channel's marketing team than the show itself.

The good news is that Mr. Feeny will be making an appearance in the pilot episode, while Rider Strong will show up for a holiday special. So even if the magic doesn't start right off the bat, getting the old gang back together might give the show the kick it needs.

No official premiere date has been set, but "Girl Meets World" should start airing sometime this summer on the Disney Channel. Check out the trailer below:
