Watch the First Trailer for 'Interstellar' from Christopher Nolan's 'Interstellar'

Need a sci-fi movie to get excited about this year, but aren't into superheroes or giant lizards? We have just what you need.

Warner Bros just released the first trailer for "Interstellar" today, giving a first look at the potentially epic Matthew McConaughey starrer. The movie is the latest project from director Christopher Nolan, who won the hearts of fans with "Inception" and his trilogy of Batman movies: "Batman Begins," "The Dark Knight," and "The Dark Knight Rises."

The movie centers on Cooper (McConaughey), a man living on a future Earth that is running low on resources to keep the human race alive. Because of his particular skills, Cooper is recruited to help with a particular mission: taking a group of people into another solar system via interstellar travel.

The story has interesting implications in terms of time, a subject that Nolan explored in interesting ways through "Inception." Obviously Cooper wants to be able to return to his children, but the nature of relativity states that for every year Cooper travels through space at high speeds, many more years will pass on Earth. It looks like Jessica Chastain might be playing an older version of his daughter Murphy, proving that Coop might not have a quick and easy round trip.

"Interstellar" is loaded with stars of the celebrity kind, including Anne Hathaway, Topher Grace, Casey Affleck, John Lithgow and Nolan movie regular Michael Caine.
