'The Hunger Games' Preview: Watch the First Trailer

For a film that's far from being released, buzz on "The Hunger Games" has been ridiculous.

Following the Twitter stream coming from the VMAs, it was clear that an awful lot of the audience were fans gritting their teeth through the ceremony specifically to see the trailer for the new film series based on the highly popular books.

And they got what they were looking for. Eventually.

Towards the end of the show, Jennifer Lawrence beamed in a video from the set of "The Hunger Games" production out in North Carolina.

Consistent with the promo stills released so far, it's a lot of footage of Lawrence as Katniss running through the woods, hunting and being hunted, only now there's fire and arrows flying.

It's none too long, but should give rabid fans of the books something to salivate over for a while...
