Watch the First 10 Minutes of the 'Grey's Anatomy' If/Then (S8 Ep13) Episode

As far as her personal life goes, Meredith Grey of "Grey's Anatomy" has had a few rough patches, not least of which is her mother getting Alzheimer's, which you could argue is the main reason why Meredith can be so "dark and twisty."

So when this week's episode of "Grey's Anatomy" shows you its "what if" episode imagining an alternate universe in which Ellis Grey never got Alzheimer's, it stands to reason that Meredith should be all peppy and happy. Sure enough, this clip from the first 10 minutes of the episode shows us just that (and a new intro!), but it also shows us the other bizarro effects of the change on Seattle Grace.

For example, we find Meredith engaged to Alex, Callie is married to Owen, nobody likes Cristina (nobody wants to be dark and twisty with her I guess) as Meredith is besties with April instead, Derek and Bailey seemingly live in fear of Chief Ellis, and Meredith is really not so fond of Derek.
