Watch the Explosion-Filled Trailer for the New 'Die Hard' Movie
by Andy NeuenschwanderFresh off the solid opening of "Looper," here's Bruce Willis once again in his natural habitat: surrounded by gunfire and explosions.
The first trailer for "A Good Day To Die Hard" is out, and it's just about as spectacular as the title is (I hope this franchise goes on forever, if only to see how many different ways they can fit "Die Hard" in there). It starts off with some espionage-y stuff like late-night helicopter drops and armed men looking for crates in a darkened warehouse, but as soon as you start hearing the familiar echoes of "Ode to Joy" (nice callback to the original "Die Hard" there), things start really kicking.
The movie will follow John McClane (Willis) and his son, John McClane Jr. (Jai Courtney) as they foil some kind of Russian plot. In keeping with the advancing scale of these movies, this one will take place overseas: "Die Hard" took place in one building, "Die Hard 2" took place in an airport, "Die Hard with a Vengeance" took place in an entire city," and "Live Free or Die Hard" took place pretty much on the entire East Coast of the USA. Naturally, this one will open up to an international scale and McClane & Son will be fighting baddies in Moscow.
We can only hope that "Die Hard 5" will be in space.
It would also appear that John McClane has a new title: he's not a cowboy anymore, he's "The 007 of Plainfield, New Jersey." I like it.
