Watch 'Broad City' Star Hannibal Buress Absolutely Destroy a Heckler
by Andy Neuenschwander
"Broad City" star Hannibal Buress may have just coined a new term: "Social Terrorist."
That's what the comedian called a heckler who was interrupting one of his stand-up shows recently in a takedown that instantly went viral.
In the video, Buress stops his set when a heckler starts yelling from the wings. "I don't know who that is, but they gotta go," he says.
He goes on to call out the heckler for either being drunk or just being a terrible human being. "Stop yelling, why can't you hold your liquor?" Buress says. "I want to give you the excuse of being drunk and not just being a sh---y obnoxious person. I hope you're drunk because I've done s--t when I was drunk, [just] not interrupt a show that 1,100 other people are watching."
Buress continued and nearly brought the house down with this analogy: "When I'm drunk, I like to ruin one or two peoples' nights—a cab driver, a bartender, a woman that I'm seeing. I don't go into a big venue. I like to work on a small scale. You, sir, are a social terrorist."
Though he isn't the most famous of comedians, Buress has nonetheless been in the news frequently of late as he was the comedian who got the ball rolling on investigations into Bill Cosby's alleged history of drugging and raping women. It was a part of Buress' set, in which he brought up the allegations, that ended up bringing many more victims forward with stories of abuse at Cosby's hand.
