Watch: 'American Idol' Scotty McCreery's Lip Syncing During Macy's Parade 'Clear As Day'

Watch: 'American Idol' Scotty McCreery's Lip Syncing During Macy's Parade 'Clear As Day' While the Macy's Day parade is not a talent show, and it's no secret to anyone that the singers who perform during the parade are lip syncing, "American Idol" Scotty McCreery got caught doing a pretty bad job of it on national television yesterday.

The latest champion on "American idol," who also recently became the youngest man and first country act to land atop the Billboard 200 charts with his album "Clear As Day," was performing his hit single "The Trouble With Girls," when he had trouble getting the microphone to his lips in time, as the recorded track played while his lips were clearly not moving.

There has been a rash of bad lip syncing as of late, as contestants on "The X Factor" were busted recently clearly missing their cues and being heard singing when their lips weren't moving during one of the group performances.

Show executives there explained away the incident, saying that they regularly allow contestants to lip sync for the non-judging parts of the performance to give them adequate time to prepare for judged segments.

McCreery has performed just fine live on "Idol" and during the World Series, so no one's suggesting he's a fraud, and all of the musical performances were noticably lip synced, so it's no huge surprise, but nonetheless it was a bit of an embrassing moment on the national stage for a promising young performer.
