Hayden Panettiere Literally Makes Amanda Knox Want to Barf (Watch the Lifetime Trailer)

Hayden Panettiere Literally Makes Amanda Knox Want to Barf (Watch the Lifetime Trailer) It may not be the first time someone has told Hayden Panettiere her acting made them want to puke, but it’s probably the first time it could end up bringing about legal repercussions.

Panettiere will play accused college-aged murderer Amanda Knox in the upcoming Lifetime movie “Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy." The network recently released a trailer for the film, and let’s just say it made Amanda a little nauseous. She is pursuing legal proceedings to force Lifetime from screening the movie.

Knox was convicted in an Italian court of sexual assault and murder for helping her boyfriend Rafaele Sollecito and a friend kill Knox’s roommate Meredith Kercher. The case, which captured the imagination of the media worldwide, is currently under appeal.

According to Radar Online, “Knox's stepfather Chris Mellas said she was hyperventilating when she caught a preview of the TV movie, which shows scenes depicting Kercher's alleged killing. She thought she was going to throw up.”

Knox’s lawyer Maria del Grosso told AOL News that "she was very sad and distressed. She can't believe they have made this film and are calling it 'based on a true story' because we are having a new trial. Most people don't even know the true story yet. But the film makes her look guilty."

Panettiere, defending the movie to Radar Online, said that the film succeeds in keeping things factual.

"It's a very controversial topic, and I don't think people are going to have a problem with it," Panettiere said. "It's pretty fact-driven, and ends right when she gets convicted."

While having the movie out in a timely fashion is a good thing, the attorneys do have a point. Even though the case is being tried in Italy, jurors there could certainly view the movie or the trailer and be persuaded that Knox is guilty.

What do you think? Is Knox guilty? Is Hayden Panettiere a dead ringer (no pun intended) for Knox?
