Watch 3 Trailers of The CW's New 2012 Shows, Including 'Smallville' Spinoff 'Arrow'
by Andy NeuenschwanderWith the departure of "Smallville" last year, The CW has some big, superhero-sized shoes to fill. Fortunately, they have an interesting slate of new shows coming in, including one that acts as a sort-of spinoff to "Smallville."
That spinoff would be the very simply titled "Arrow," which takes the Green Arrow character from the DC Comics universe (who was featured heavily in later seasons of "Smallville") and puts him in his own show. The potential for new DC characters to join the cast is big, as it was in "Smallville." Who knows? Superman might even show up at some point.
Speaking of "Smallville," Kristin Kreuk has a new role, post Lana Lang. She will be taking on one half of the titular characters in The CW's update of "Beauty and the Beast," which will serve as a reboot of sorts of the 1980's series.
Yet another spinoff/reboot is "The Carrie Diaries," which will serve as a prequel to "Sex and the City." Of course, this version will be much more network-friendly... you can't be showing/saying all the stuff they did on HBO when you're on The CW. Unfortunately, there's no footage yet for "The Carrie Diaries" as it premieres mid-season, and the same goes for horror thriller "Cult."
"Emily Owens, M.D." does have some footage, though, and you can watch that and the other two clips below:
