Wanda Sykes Picks At Mitt Romney's Gay-Marriage Stance
by Sean ComerFish gotta swim. Birds gotta fly. And with President Obama surging after publicly supporting gay-marriage legalization, Wanda Sykes will naturally take to the offensive.
The comic, who publicly came out as a lesbian in November 2008 at a Las Vegas rally supporting California's Proposition 8, was Jay Leno's guest on Tuesday's "The Tonight Show" and came across as venomous toward Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney as she was proud of Obama's "Good Morning America" declaration last week.
I'm over the moon . . . I'm very excited, I'm so proud of him," Sykes told Leno, referring to Obama's acceptance. She also took gleefully to pointing out how predictable Romney will probably be running up to the November election.
"I bet if you put Mitt Romney in front of a gay organization, he would go, 'Boy I like gays. I'm all for gays'," she supposed. "He says whatever should be said in front of that organization. He's like the Forrest Gump of candidates."
Do tell, Wanda, how saying "whatever should be said in front of that organization" makes Romney any different whatsoever from any politician from either side of the aisle in history that's ever wanted to actually win an election?
"I would love to see him in front of NOW," she continued. "Boy, women, I like women. You know, my wife has a vagina. I like that."
I really miss the days when Wanda Sykes was funny.
In 2009, s**t previously hit the fan between Sykes and conservative pundit Rush Limbaugh, after Limbaugh's declaration on his syndicated radio show that he hoped Obama failed as president.
"I hope [Limbaugh's] kidneys fail, how 'bout that?" Sykes said at the 2009 White House Correspondents' Dinner. "Needs a little waterboarding, that's what he needs."
Check out the clip below for more of Sykes' chat with Leno.
