'The Walking Dead' Upgrades Three Characters to Series Regulars
by Shannon Keirnan“Walking Dead” fans have been grasping for any news regarding the upcoming season as last Sunday’s episode wrapped up season 3.
Well, here’s a little tidbit to hopefully tide you over: three guest stars from season 3 have just been upgrades to series regulars.
Chad L. Coleman and Sonequa Martin-Green, who appeared as Tyrese and Sasha, will definitely be returning.
The season finale saw the brother and sister pair refusing to help The Governor attack Rick’s people, and helping to transport children and elderly to Rick’s prison encampment.
Martin-Green also has a guest role on ABC’s “Once Upon a Time” as the scheming Tamara, affianced to Emma’s old love interest (and father of her son) Neal. Her role will more than likely bring her into season 3.
Also popping back up is actress Emily Kinney (who played Hershel’s youngest daughter Beth in season 2).
David Morrissey, we have already announced, will also be returning as The Governor to become a series regular. It will cause the show to veer somewhat from the comic books upon which is based.
A new regular will also be introduced: Roy Stark, “A former Army medic who is deeply haunted by his past, pre- and post-zombie apocalypse. As a result, he’s a bit of a longer, although he maintains a charming/self-deprecating/confident public face.”
The role has yet to be cast.
Speculation guided by the comics also suggests that we may soon see the arrival of Abraham Ford, a U.S. Army sergeant who would join Rick’s group. However with storylines branching from the original comics, we can only wait and see.
