'The Walking Dead' Season 4: A New Threat 'from Inside'

'The Walking Dead' Season 4: A New Threat 'from Inside' The countdown to season 4 of "The Walking Dead" continues, and as we head into the final month of waiting, AMC continues to dribble out the smallest of teases about what we can expect from the new season. An extended promo released this week offers lots of action but only vague hints about the show's plot development.

In the four-minute clip, the show's cast and producers deliver some insights about what we'll encounter as the season begins, including the gap in time between the end of season 3 and the beginning of season 4, which exec producer Scott Gimple says will be about six or seven months.

In that time, everyone has settled into relative comfort in the prison, but the security of the settlement won't last, as a new threat will reveal itself.

"It's not walkers, and it's not other people," says co-exec producer Denise Huth, and Greg Nicotero adds that the threat comes "from inside."

Aside from those tidbits, the promo is mostly just zombie slaughter, so the nature of the new peril remains unclear. Creator Robert Kirkman points out that the only thing we can be sure of is that the peril will continue.

"This is 'The Walking Dead,'" he says. "Things are only going to get worse. Just wait."
