'The Walking Dead' First-Person Shooter Video Game in the Works

'The Walking Dead' First-Person Shooter Video Game in the Works Want all the thrill of the zombie apocalypse without that whole losing your life thing? Good news: Activision is planning a video game based on AMC's hit zombie drama "The Walking Dead."

The game will be a first-person shooter in the vein of "Call of Duty," only with zombies. In fact, Activision is the same company that produces the "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" series, so FPS games are one of their fortes. The game will be developed, however, by Terminal Reality, who did the recent "Ghostbusters" video game.

Interestingly, it looks as though the game will only feature a couple of characters from the show, and Rick Grimes isn't one of them. Darryl and Merle Dixon will be the playable characters, and you will be able to control them as you attempt to survive an escape from Atlanta.

The game will combine strategy and stealth aspects with straight-up zombie killing, as you will have to watch your supplies and ammunition as you choose stealth or brute force to avoid becoming one of the walking dead yourself.

The game is set to launch sometime in 2013, at which point "The Walking Dead" will likely be in the middle of its third season. You can head over to the official website for "The Walking Dead Begins" and see a teaser trailer or put in a pre-order.
