AMC's The Walking Dead Season 1 Finale Ends With Killer Ratings

The Walking Dead Season 1 Finale The season finale of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” set a killer rating with 6 million viewers on Sunday night.

Andrew Lincoln’s (lead character) gruesome zombie series set a record as the biggest show in AMC history beating the ratings of the two shows “Breaking Bad” and “Mad Men” both Emmy Award winners.

Surprisingly, 8 million viewers watched the 11 pm repeat of The Walking Dead. This is a remarkable figure for show, considering that it aired only six episodes for its first season.

The audience share of the show speaks that viewers love it and certainly they want see more terrifying episodes from the zombie drama.

Meanwhile, there are spreading rumors that Director Frank Darabont is planning to hire freelance writers for the next season and he wants to kick-out the writers of the show including Charles Eglee, co-creator of Murder one.

Gale Anne Hurd, executive producer of the zombie drama denied all the rumors. She said that Eglee made his own decision to leave.

Hurd said, "In the writers' room, there are people that have set up other projects that will be their first priority if their own series is picked up as a pilot or if it's a series. I think Eglee just decided that he wants to run his own show.”

Furthermore, the executive producer confirmed that the primary cast of the zombie drama already signed up for the next season.

The second season of “The Walking Dead” will air 13 episodes next year.
