Watch 'The Voice' Runner-Up Dia Frampton's Debut Video 'Don't Kick the Chair' There's a beautiful mind behind Dia Frampton's beautiful voice.

Of course, two heads are still always better than one.

With the backing of judge Blake Shelton, the Utah songstress sang her way to runner-up on the first season of NBC's "The Voice." But of course, "runner-up" is no synonym for losing out, because she has a new Kid Cudi-assisted single called "Don't Kick The Chair" that reflects upon the phrase that kept she and her sisters' thoughts in perspective when growing up.

"I wrote this song with Busbee and Julie Frost," Dia told AOL Music.

"It started with my lyrical idea, 'Don't Kick the Chair,' since my sisters and I throw that phrase around at home when we're complaining about something when, on the other hand, it's a beautiful day outside. In other words, 'don't kick the chair' is another way of saying, 'don't give up,' because you can't have the highs without the lows, and there's no use in getting down about something for too long. You got to start pushing forward at some point," said Frampton.

The video features Frampton's lyrics scrawled in the dirt upon weathered windows, as rays of sunshine struggle to pierce the grime. She has a breathy, almost Taylor Swift-like voice that grows stronger and richer as she digs further into each verse.

And for as country-ready as she sounds, Cudi sounds just as at-home on his inspired verse.

"It was a pleasure having Kid Cudi on this song," says Dia. "I'm a fan of his work and also am very happy with the positive lyrics he created. This song has a dark undertone, but overall, I wanted it to be optimistic."

The single will appear on Frampton's Dec. 6-dropping album Red, and Frampton will be joining Shelton on his "Well Lit And Amplified Tour" in 2012.
