'The Avengers': New Set Photos and Videos (Includes Things Exploding!)

Not too many things can top things that blow up - especially stuff that blows up as part of making a long-awaited "Avengers" movie that teams up Iron Man, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Captain America, Thor and The Hulk.
If it started raining single-malt scotch, you couldn't convince me that the Rapture had indeed snuck up on me, just as the Bible predicted it would. Sneaky, sneaky Rapture.
Meantime, enjoy some photos and videos from the Cleveland location shoot for 2012's Joss Whedon-directed "The Avengers." The one big outdoor scene Whedon and crew captured before rain sent things scuttling indoors apparently involved throngs of extras stampeding down a Cleveland street as police struggle to control the situation. From the photos, note that Chris "Captain America" Evans was on set for the moment.
Evans co-stars with Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson and Mark Ruffalo. "The Avengers" roars into theaters May 4, 2012.
