VIDEO: Watch the 'Simpsons' Couch Gag, 'Ren & Stimpy' Style

VIDEO: Watch the 'Simpsons' Couch Gag, 'Ren & Stimpy' Style If you were watching "The Simpsons" last night, you probably noticed the couch gag was a little... different.

If it looked familiar to you, chances are you're a child of the 90's who used to watch "Ren & Stimpy." Why? Because the couch gag segment of the opening credits was animated by John Kricfalusi, creator of "Ren & Stimpy." It all makes sense now, doesn't it?

The segment is truly strange, in the way that only John K. can be. Homer screams "Beer!" which sends Marge dancing off to the kitchen, Bart turns into a fiery imp, and Homer's peanut brain pops out of his skull, after which he pours beer into the hole. Yikes. So it's pretty trippy, but not nearly as trippy as Brian's magic mushroom trip on the "Family Guy" episode that followed just an hour later.

"Ren & Stimpy" is, of course, long gone, but recently John K. released a special entitiled "Ren & Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon," which featured some more mature (if you want to call it that) animation.
