Jake Gyllenhaal, star of "Source Code" and "Love and Other Drugs," joined Grylls on "Man vs. Wild" to do some stunts and show that he's not afraid of heights.

Okay, maybe he's a little afraid of heights.

THR has two sneak preview clips of Gyllenhaal on the show, which you can watch right here. In the first clip, Grylls has a rope tied between two cliffs over a river canyon, which Gyllenhaal must tie onto and inch his way across. The "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" star actually seems fairly comfortable with the technique, but when he looks down he starts to get a bit nervous. Can you blame him?

In the second clip, Jake and Bear are hit by a snowstorm and must traverse a plain. But with the chance of falling into a snow trap, Gyllenhaal has to be careful when he takes the lead...and sure enough, he comes across a dangerous spot or two.

Gyllenhaal isn't the first Hollywood star to appear on "Man vs. Wild" for a bit of extra publicity: Will Ferrell joined Grylls for a wintry trek when he was promoting "Land of the Lost," to predictably hilarious results.
