Video: Stars of 'Dexter,' 'The Walking Dead' and 'True Blood' Give the Rules on Spoilers
by Andy NeuenschwanderIt's pretty safe to say that most of us, at some point or another, has been the victim of a spoiler. You know how it goes: you were too busy Sunday night to watch the most recent episode of "Dexter," so you have it sitting on your DVR at home. All you need to do is get through the work day, but then that annoying co-worker that you hate comes up to you and tells you how he feels about that major character dying on last night's episode. Suddenly, you understand where Dexter is coming from with this own serial killing thing.
But a ray of hope has come out of Collegehumor: stars of shows like "Dexter" and "True Blood" have gotten together to make an inspiring PSA about the dangers of spoilers, and how you can prevent them. The rules are as follows:
- Spoilers are no longer spoilers two weeks after an episode airs, two months after a season finale airs, and one year after a series finale airs.
- Any statement that begins with "This isn't really a spoiler, but..." will be dismissed as a spoiler and the offender will have to shut up for 45 minutes (stool time is optional).
- Spoilers may be retaliated against with another spoiler, but please keep it to the same medium as the original spoiler.
Other rules include some special provisions for ro sham bo and knife fights.
The video features some funny performances from "Heroes" star Masi Oka, "The Walking Dead" star Sarah Wayne Callies, "True Blood" star Nelsan Ellis, "The Wire" star Andre Royo, Michael Trucco of "Battlestar Galactica" and Julie Benz of "Dexter."
