Video: The New Alfred 'Hitchcock' Trailer!

“All of us harbor dark recesses of violence and horror… I’m just a man hiding in the corner with a camera, watching…”

Oooh, creepy.

The new “Hitchcock” trailer has been released, and it’s one more promising name to add to the list of great movies being released at the end of this year—saving the best for last, apparently. The flick was pushed up to a November release, possibly in a bid to gets its shot in at the Academy Awards, if that tells you anything about the high expectations of the film….

The movie stars Anthony Hopkins in a pretty realistic Hitchcock disguise, Helen Mirren as his loving but frank wife, Alma Reville, and Scarlett Johansson as his star, Janet Leigh. There are plenty of other great stars involved, as well. Expect to see the likes of Jessica Biel, Toni Collette, and James D’Arcy lurking in the darkness.

“Hitchcock” follows Hitchcock’s personal battle to bring “Psycho” to the big screen, when Paramount Pictures shied away from the violence and sexual taboos Hitchcock intended to bring to his audiences. Hitchcock was forced to raise $800,000 to independently produce the classic horror.

It will also focus on the relationship between Hitchcock and his wife. Mirren plays the part expertly even in the short trailer, shouting, “I am your wife! I celebrate with you when the reviews are good, I cry for you when they are bad, and I put up with those people who look through me as if I were invisible because all they can see is the great and glorious genius, Alfred Hitchcock!”

What do you think? Chills up the spine?
