VIDEO: 'Quantum Kitchen' Chef Vigneron Shares Cool Treats That Make You Blow Steam The school kids dream: coming home from school to a fresh batch of marshmallow gooey-goodness in the form of Rice Krispies treats.

Now, imagine what would happen if mom could throw in some liquid nitrogen.

Former “Top Chef” contestant and host of SyFy’s new “Quantum Kitchen,” Marcel Vigneron recently showed future “Mom of the Year” winners how to give an American classic an added wow factor.

On “Access Hollywood Live” Vigneron used liquid nitrogen to make the treats, explaining that you can even eat them at the just-frozen temperatures because there is no moisture in the rice, meaning nothing will stick to you tongue.

Instead of heating up the treats, the substance actually freezes them at negative 320 degrees Fahrenheit.

It’s so cold, Vigneron said, it could burn your skin.

You can catch the cool demo here, with an even cooler side effect: after you eat the Krispies treats, you’ll blow steam through your nose.

"That's what happens when you play with your food," Vigneron said. "A little bit of science, a little bit of know-how, some creativity."
