'Veronica Mars' Gets a Web Series

'Veronica Mars' Gets a Web Series Kickstarter revived "Veronica Mars" and brought it to the theaters last March... and now, fan love will bring it to the Internet.

Sort of. "Play it Again, Dick," will be a web-series revolving around the "Veronica Mars" character Dick Casablancas (Ryan Hansen).

Creator Rob Thomas described the project:

"The web series will have more in common with 'Party Down' tonally, but it will be about Ryan Hansen, or at least a version of Ryan Hansen, deciding to capitalize on the current 'Veronica Mars' heat to get his own series on the air. He'll try to pull his actor pals into the venture with varying degrees of success."

First announced in Januray, the eight-episode series has recently wrapped filming, and will run on The CW's digital-only hub, CWSeed. Cast members will play their characters, as well as ficionalized versions of their actual selves.

Are you following? We're getting the feeling this series is going to pride itself on being pretty meta.

This includes Kristen Bell, appearing "begrudingly" to reprise her starring role as Veronica Mars. Also returning are Jason Dohring as Logan Echolls, Enrico Colantoni as Keith Mars, Percy Daggs III as Wallace, along with Daran Norris, Francis Capra, Chris Lowell, and Ken Marino.

Robert Buckley and Rose McIver, who have appeared in Thomas' "iZombie," will also appear.

"Play it Again, Dick," will premiere September 15th. Episodes will be released weekly, and will vary in length from about eight-to-ten minutes.

Will you tune in to see the "Veronica Mars" cast reunite?
