Are 'Vampire Diaries' Stars Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder Back Together?

Today could be a very good day for Delena fans, despite the events of "The Vampire Diaries" finale.

According to reports, Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder, who play Elena and Damon on the hit CW show, have reunited as a couple. The two had sparked a romance during their time on the show, but recently made an amicable split.

But if rumors are to be trusted, the couple is attempting to give it another go, as secretly as possible. The source behind the report says that their breakup last year came in part due to the unwanted publicity their relationship brought on them, so they want to take it slow and keep their private lives private as much as possible this time around.

The report also notes that Dobrev and Somerhalder are planning a trip to Europe together in order to spend some time together away from paparazzi and other prying eyes.

Of course, the two always said that they were going to remain good friends when they split, and they seemed to hold true to that promise, so any time they've been spending together may have been under the friends banner. Still, considering what happened to Somerhalder's character on the show during the season finale (without spoiling too much, it's tough to say whether Damon will be back for future episodes), some are speculating that he's attempting to distance himself from the show in order to help their off-screen relationship.

If so, that's quite a Damon-esque sacrifice to make!
