'Vampire Diaries' Stars Dish About Romances

Sure, "The Vampire Diaries" has vampires, witchcraft, and other supernatural stuff, but the people behind the show know what their bread and butter is: steamy love triangles.

Originally, the show was all about the Stefan/Elena/Damon triangle, but another tricky romance soon emerged between Matt, Caroline, and Tyler. A human, vampire, and werewolf involved in a love triangle. Somehow, that sounds familiar…

Now that the show is on hiatus until April, the stars have been dishing about their on-screen romances and how they might play out in the future.

In regards to to the Caroline triangle, Candice Accola spoke out about the dynamic in an interview with MTV: "With Caroline and Matt there’s so much of a first love feeling to their relationship," said Accola. "But with Caroline and Tyler there’s that sense of a budding relationship from a friendship. So I think it goes back to that question, what’s better?"

Meanwhile, Nina Dobrev (who plays Elena) has said in an interview with Fancast that she "would be surprised" if Elena ever became attracted to Damon, as she's just too caught up with Stefan.
