'Vampire Diaries' Star Nina Dobrev's Next Role: A Drug Smuggler?

'Vampire Diaries' Star Nina Dobrev's Next Role: A Drug Smuggler? The third season of "The Vampire Diaries" is winding down (you can watch a preview clip for the finale episode here), which is good and bad news for fans of the show. On the bad side, you won't be seeing any new episodes until fall. On the positive side, the stars of the show will have some free time to appear in other projects.

Nina Dobrev seems to be making the most of that, as she is set to star in the upcoming movie "Kid Cannabis," along with "Twilight" star Kellan Lutz and "Project X" star Jonathan Daniel Brown. The three will play a group of teenagers who decide to grow marijuana... so yep, that means Dobrev will be playing a drug smuggler in her new movie.

The story is based on a true one, as reported in an article from Rolling Stone. A group of teenagers from Idaho ended up building a huge drug ring, earning millions of dollars.

What's more, it looks like Lutz and Dobrev might be paired up romantically in the movie (at least at first), so there's another vampire cross-over for you.

Dobrev will also be appearing soon in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," with "Harry Potter" star Emma Watson. And, of course, you can see Lutz in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" later this year.
