'The Vampire Diaries' Season 4: Back to the Old Damon, Still Hope for Delena

'The Vampire Diaries' Season 4: Back to the Old Damon, Still Hope for Delena Delena enthusiasts might not have to lament the events of season three of "The Vampire Diaries" for long.

According to "TVD" executive producer Julie Plec, there's still some hope for Damon and Elena to end up together in the long run, despite her choice to be with Stefan at the end of season three. "It's certainly not the end of Delena, as anyone might be afraid," said Plec. "In fact, in a way, it's the beginning of the beginning."

But what of the present, Plec? What will poor, spurned Damon do? Plec's answer: pretty much whatever he wants to do.

"He's still going to be the Damon we know and love - he's still going to be kicking ass and taking names," Plec said. "But he just has this devil-may-care attitude about it. He's just not going to change for anybody anymore. He did that. That's over. That's so last year."

There you have it, Damon fans: your favorite character will be back to his old self in the coming season. And don't worry, I know that last quote about not changing himself and everything made it sound like Damon will be listening to Taylor Swift songs and singing "I Will Survive" at karaoke bars, but I don't think that's what she meant.
