Werewolf Genealogy: 'Vampire Diaries,' 'Originals' Crossover

One of the most exciting prospects for fans of both "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Originals" is a crossover between the two series that will pull the storylines of both closer together. Such a crossover is going to happen, and according to executive producer Julie Plec, it's going to happen "very soon."

According to The Hollyowood Reporter, Plec told journalists at a screening earlier this week that the crossover would hit the air before the end of November and that it would involve Tyler (Michael Trevino), a werewolf who was last seen on "The Vampire Diaries."

"It will answer a couple of questions," Plec said, "one of which is answering the first piece of the mystery of the protective wolf."

Tyler's mission, as he explained it in "The Vampire Diaries," is to make things difficult for Klaus (Joseph Morgan), and when Tyler shows up in "The Originals," he's likely to start messing with Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), who's pregnant with Klaus's baby.

"The one thing that Tyler does offer in his presence as he sets foot in this world is answers and more information," Plec said. "He takes [Hayley] to a place out in the bayou where she's going to start to understand a little bit of where she comes from."
