'Vampire Diaries' Finale: Questions Posed and a Big Event
by EGSeason 5 of “The Vampire Diaries” comes to a close this week, and the season finale is certain to pose just as many questions as it answers. As zap2it reports, the series’ executive producer, Caroline Dries, promises that the episode is going to pack an emotional punch.
“The Travelers are trying to rip away their home and it's something that they rally around and in the meantime, the Other Side is falling apart," she says. "The question is what's going to happen to Bonnie, what's going to happen to our friends who are over there that we occasionally check in with, do they just go away like Vicky did? These things are spiraling out of control around them.”
Dries also lets on that the final episode of the season is going to feature one big event that will set the stage for the beginning of next season, although she’s predictably coy about what, exactly, that event might be.
“This giant thing happens and we're breaking Season 6 now in the writers room and it starts with everyone in a different orbit, in a way," she says. "Season 6 will be a lot of bringing people back together from different places.”
The season finale of “The Vampire Diaries” airs May 15 at 8:00 pm ET/PT on the CW.
