'The Vampire Diaries' Episode 8 Preview Clip: Damon & Elena's 'Lost' Moment

Last week's episode of "The Vampire Diaries" saw Mason showing Damon a cave that supposedly holds some very important secrets. In this week's episode, titled "Ordinary People," we're going to find out what makes the cave so important. But if you can't wait until Thursday, just check out this preview clip!

The clip from this week's episode has Alaric (Matt Davis) taking Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) on a little cave tour. No, they're not looking for interesting mineral formations... they're looking for the ancient markings on the wall, showing what Alaric calls "a really old story."

The names that adorn the wall, written in Nordic runes, reveal that the Originals might go back a lot further than previously thought. That will lead nicely into the flashbacks that we're supposedly going to see this episode, which reveal the past of the Originals going wayyyyy back.
