'Breaking Dawn' Producers to Fans: 'Stop Posting Leaked Twilight Sex Scene Photos!'

Apparently the producers of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn" think that free viral publicity is a bad thing. A couple of photos of the sex scene between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in the upcoming "Twilight" film were Tweeted earlier, and though the "Breaking Dawn" producers quickly shut down the source, the pictures are all over the place. This is, after all, the Internet.

The producers and author Stephanie Meyer released this statement today:

"As some of you may know, pictures and screen grabs of 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn' as a work in progress have leaked on the internet. We are extremely proud of this film and also extremely heartbroken to see it out there at this stage.

The film and these images are not yet ready or in their proper context. They were illegally obtained and their early dissemination is deeply upsetting to the actors, the filmmakers and Summit who are working so hard to bring these movies to fruition to you in November 2011 and November 2012.

Please, for those who are posting, stop. And please, though the temptation is high, don’t view or pass on these images. Wait for the film in its beautiful, finished entirety to thrill you."

I can understand that they don't want the images out there before the finished product. But what are they expecting, that Twihards are going to see the pictures and say "Well, I've seen enough, guess I don't have to go see the movie now"? If anything, this will only make fans more excited to see the film. I don't see how two stills ruin anything from the movie.

I do see how pictures of the two of them in a rather compromising position might make Pattinson and Stewart upset, though.

Out of respect for the producers' wishes (and the distinct feeling that this might be an April Fool's Day prank), I won't post the images. But if you're interested in seeing them, there are links here.
