'Twilight' Actor Joins 'True Blood' Cast

'Twilight' Actor Joins 'True Blood' Cast "Twilight" versus "True Blood." Where do you stand? If you ask Christopher Heyerdahl, he'll tell you that he has one foot firmly in both camps.

Heyerdahl, who played Volturi member Marcus in the "Twilight" series, has just been cast in HBO's vampire series "True Blood as--you guessed it--a vampire. I mean, when you have a chin like that guy, you're pretty much going to be typecast, you know?

Heyerdahl will be playing Dieter Braun, one of the five members of the Vampire Authority. The role was once thought to be filled by "Law & Order: SVU" star Christopher Meloni (who is similarly strong-chinned), but at this point, the only other male roles in the Authority are held by a nine-year-old and an African guy, so it looks like Meloni is out of the gang. Fans of Meloni can still hope he'll be playing a likely shirtless vampire, though. Pretty much every character on the show is naked half the time.

So there you have it. A "Twilight" to "True Blood" crossover. Now all we need is for Ian Somerhalder or Paul Wesley to do a spot on the HBO series and we'll have ourselves a TV vampire menage a trois. Metaphorically, of course. Although you can't count that sort of thing out on "True Blood," can you?
