Tweeting on Cue: Trump Slams Arnold over 'Apprentice'
by EG
He may still be an executive producer of Celebrity Apprentice, but Donald Trump proved that he won't share the spotlight, even if it means insulting a series that he's ostensibly in charge off. After the debut of Arnold Schwarzenegger as the series' new host, Trump took to Twitter to slam Arnold and praise himself, a move that was as predictable as could be.
"Wow, the ratings are in and Arnold Schwarzenegger got 'swamped' (or destroyed) by comparison to the ratings machine, DJT," Trump tweeted on Friday morning.
Trump encouraged followers to compare the ratings for Arnold's debut to his own first season as host of the series. That's the only way to see Trump as a "ratings machine," given that his final season as the Apprentice host drew ratings comparable to Arnold's.
Schwarzenegger tweeted back a more civil response, reminding Trump that he should probably be focusing on his new job instead of his old one.
"There's nothing more important than the people's work, @realDonaldTrump," Arnold tweeted. "I wish you the best of luck and I hope you'll work for ALL of the American people as aggressively as you worked for your ratings."
