'True Blood' Star Cast in 'Daredevil' Series
by Shannon Keirnan"True Blood" is on its final season, but that doesn't mean you'll have to say goodbye to those vamps you've grown to know and love. Simply follow them on to their next projects - like Jessica, a.k.a. Deborah Ann Woll, who will be heading over to Netflix now that shooting has wrapped.
Woll has just been cast as Karen Page on the Marvel re-imagining of "Daredevil." Netflix has picked up the series, which will debut 13 episodes in 2015. Will it share the same success as other Netflix ventures, like "House of Cards" and "Orange is the New Black?"
Let's hope it at least picks up a larger fan base than the poorly recieved 2003 big-screen version of "Daredevil," which starred Ben Affleck and probably some other people (we fell asleep).
However, with 29-year-old beauty Woll on screen, we have a feeling our interest will be piqued.
She has been cast alongside Charle Cox ("Boardwalk Empire," "Stardust"), who will be stepping into the role of the superhero by night, lawyer Matt Murdock by day.
Eldon Henson will play Murdock's friend Foggy Nelson, with Vincent D'Onofrio as the crime lord Kingpin, and Rosario Dawson in a highly mysterious, unnamed role.
I'm guessing Elektra. Anyone else?
The series was originally intended to be written and executive produced by Drew Goddard, but he has downgraded to just executive production. Show-running will be manned by Steven S. DeKnight.
