'True Blood' Season Six... What's In Store?
by Shannon KeirnanSummer is on its way… eventually… and that means that the wait for season 6 of “True Blood” is getting shorter by the day.
So what can we look forward to for the next season? Will things be changing now that showrunner Alan Ball has stepped down to produce his own show, “Banchee,” and co-executive producer Mark Hudis will be taking over?
“It’s impossible to fill Alan Ball’s shoes. That’s not false modesty, that’s the truth. The guy’s created two massive hit shows for HBO and has an Oscar. Really, this plane is in the air, and I just want to land it safely,” says Hudis, but he’s excited for the show’s progression.
Hudis hints that the mysterious vampire Warlow will be featuring big time this season, as the Stackhouse siblings track down the creature that killed their parents and seems to have a sense of entitlement toward Sookie.
Word is there will also be a prostitute who earns her living by letting vampires feed on her, as well as a few other new characters.
Alcide will get a stronger plotline, as well. Joe Manganiello, who plays the buff werewolf, spilled a few hints about the upcoming season.
“[It’s] racier. My character’s taken over the wolf pack, so as an alpha, and a pack of dogs, you gotta regulate, you gotta set it straight with everybody so there’s some violence. It’ll be fun.”
He added, “This is season 6 and the first couple scripts I read -– I think they’re doing a lot of stuff that they maybe held back on the past couple years. They’re pretty wild. I think it’s going to be a pretty wild season.”
Speaking of wild, will there be a resolution to the new weird Bill/god that seems to be running about?
“Certainly Bill not going to be the Bill we know and love. He’s going to have more bite, no pun intended,” said Hudis.
