'True Blood' Renewed! Get Ready for Season 5

'True Blood' Renewed! Get Ready for Season 5 Whether you're Team Bill or Team Eric, here's a bit of good news for you: "True Blood" has been renewed for a fifth season!

It's hardly any surprise that HBO picked the show back up. After all, the season four premiere was its highest-rated yet with 5.4 million viewers tuning in. The show is only improving in the ratings, and it shows no signs of slowing down.

Creator Alan Ball sees a long road ahead for the show, especially considering that he'll have tons of source material to work from.

Ball claimed that the author of the novels, Charlaine Harris, "said there will be a total of 13 novels, and she’s publishing 10 or 11," in an interview with EW.

"If we did do 13 seasons I believe we would have to address why are the vampires aging," he joked.

Thirteen seasons? Can you imagine? It'd be like being locked in a candy shop overnight.

Meanwhile, it certainly doesn't hurt the show's chances that it's up for four Emmy's at this year's awards show. And no matter what the ratings look like, a show is always more likely to survive if it has a dedicated fan base. So give yourself a hand, Truvians!
