'Trophy Wife' Season 1, Episode 15: 'Happy Bert Day' Recap

Bert comes in excited that he has finished reading his 100th book - which, as promised, means he can have whatever kind of birthday party he wants.

At Bert's soccer game, Kate tries to make contact with some of the other moms, but they clearly don't want her company. Reluctantly she heads back to Pete, as Jackie comes up to complain about how difficult planning Bert's party has been. Kate offers to take over planning.

She consults with Bert, pushing him to think big, so she can impress the women of the neighborhood. They settle on an "Aladdin" theme.

At the party, Diane discovers the cake Kate ordered is wrong and pretty inappropriate, and goes off to fix it. Kate sucks up to the soccer moms while trying to make sure everything else goes smoothly. Jackie warns her that the women are nasty. That's the truth - Kate overhears them calling her "tacky" and accusing her of being a former stripper.

Warren finds his sister staring at a cute boy and offers to help hook her up. He goes to talk to the guy, who is a dancer and a surfer. They hit it off and Warren wants to be friends. He goes and tells Hillary he's bad news.

Kate finds Jackie and tells her about the rumor of her being a stripper. She wants to set them straight, but Jackie tells her not to stir things up. She promises to go set things straight. Kate finds her later and Jackie says she told everyone the truth and to rise above it, but blames Fern for starting the rumor.

Diane gets pulled over after fixing the cake and speeding home, and tells the officer Pete is having a heart attack.

Kate finds Fern in the bathroom and confronts her. Fern denies starting the rumor and Kate demands the truth. Fern tells her that Jackie is the one who started the rumor.

Kate finds Jackie to yell at her. Jackie admits she told the lie to try to get in with the soccer moms. The soccer moms, set straight by Fern, invite Kate over to sit with them.

As Diane tries to carry the cake inside, she runs into the screen door, smashing it all over herself as Pete laughs, claiming it's karma.

Hillary finds out Warren is lying about the boy she likes. He wants to be friends with Graham, and says when he and Hillary broke up he'd be stuck picking sides.

The soccer moms begin to make fun of Jackie, making Kate uncomfortable. She stands up for Jackie as the taunting gets worse. Kate kicks them out of the party. She and Jackie make up and agree to be buddies at the soccer games from now on.

The rest of Bert's party goes swimmingly.
