'Trophy Wife' Season 1, Episode 12: 'The Punisher' Recap

Kate interrupts Warren as he's about to jump off the roof into the pool, egged on by his sister. He jumps.

She sets the two down to try to punish them but can't quite get it together. She can't think of a way to punish them, so once they apologize she just tells them to think about what they did.

Pete and Jackie meet with Bert's teacher. She tells them that Bert doesn't seem to be reacting well to the tension between Pete and Jackie. The two decide to do things together, like get ice cream. They pick up Bert. Jackie changes it to mini-golf without permission.

Kate asks the kids if they're thinking about what they did, but they're no longer bothered. Kate calls Diane. Diane comes over and sends them to their rooms, and talks to Kate. She explains Kate needs to learn to punish them. She tries to train her.

Kate goes into the kids' rooms to officially punish them. She takes their tech toys. Diane warns her they will try to break her. Instruments begin to play off-key in the room. Kate puts Play-doh in her ears.

Jackie and Pete take Bert mini-golfing. Nearly three hours in, Pete is going nuts. Bert gets a hole-in-one and wins a free round.

Hillary and Warren continue trying to break Kate, which isn't working. They go looking for their stuff, but can't find it. The kids bring in a neighbor to get Kate to volunteer, breaking her. She decides to give the kids the silent treatment. Hillary demands their stuff back.

Kate calls Diane, who suggests she go about her business and ignore them. Kate tells Hillary no dice, and goes about her life. Hillary and Warren hear Kate's phone go off and go to grab it, but accidentally knock it into the sink drain. Kate comes back in to wash her hands, and when the water won't drain, hits the disposal. She discovers her ruined phone.

She rips into them with an expletive-filled rant and sends them to their rooms. Regretting her outburst, she goes to call Pete, but picks up the phone and hears Hillary is already informing Diane what happened.

Diane comes over and takes Kate aside. Diane pretends she is angry outside as the kids watch, but actually tells Kate she is proud. However, she must find a happy medium. Kate pretends to yell back and thanks Diane for her help.

When a group of kids yell at Bert to hurry, Jackie and Pete argue with them. They get banned from mini-golf.

Things are good at home. Hillary and Warren are being extra respectful to Kate.
