'The Transporter' Coming To TV as New Cinemax Series

If you saw Jason Statham roundhouse-kicking guys in the face on an oil slick with bicycle pedals on his feet in "The Transporter" and thought, "I wish I could see this every week," then it's your lucky day. "The Transporter" is being adapted into a TV series, and it now has a home.

The series will air on pay channel Cinemax, who has made a 12 episode order. If you're concerned about the action, these first 12 episodes have a budget of $48 million, so they should be pretty high-quality (or at least have some explosions).

For those who are unfamiliar with "The Transporter," here's what you're missing out on: the movies follow former soldier Frank Martin (played by Jason Statham) who now works as a driver for anyone who is willing to pay...and follow the rules. He's still a man with a conscience, though, and often finds himself helping those in need in between jobs transporting criminals.

Statham is not signed on for the series, and it's doubtful that he ever will be. But all you really need is a bad-ass bald dude who can fight, so that shouldn't be a problem. We'll be sure to keep you updated if any casting news about the series comes out.

Now, does anyone actually subscribe to Cinemax any more?< /p>
