Switching it Up: Transgender 'Thailand's Got Talent' Contestant Wows Judges

Switching it Up: Transgender 'Thailand's Got Talent' Contestant Wows Judges A singer in Thailand, being hailed as ‘The Next Susan Boyle,’ had more than a surprisingly good voice for judges on “Thailand’s Got Talent.”

As Now Public reports, Bell Nuntita showed judges the wow factor as she started singing with a sweet delicate voice that soon transformed into a masculine bass.

It’s a little like “American Idol” meets “The Crying Game,” the site reports; however, the audience and judges a like were blown away.

Bell Nuntita won them over to move on to the next round, but one judge said he wasn't fooled. He first suspected Bell was a male, the judge said, until she started singing as a female.

“They'd always made fun of me, called me 'f*g', 'drag queen', but what could I possibly do?  And my dad never accepted [me] for what I am,” Nuntita said in a post-audition interview. “The worst, he once beat me badly. He tried to beat me until I quit being gay. I want to tell my dad that I love him, and that I made finally it now."

As for the Susan Boyle comparisons from blogs, well, you can see for yourself in the clip below. For the most part, as Now Public notes, the only similarity rests on the fact that they are both “early-season breakout successes.”
