Tonight's 'The Voice': Adam-Christina Feud Escalation?

Christina Aguilera and Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine On these prime time reality talent search shows, there's always just a little venom mixed into some banter - just for flavor. Word around the campfire today suggests that tonight's "The Voice" finale on NBC just might kick up the dosage.

Judges Christina Aguilera and Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine have been going tete-a-tete all season long. So far, it hasn't exactly looked that much more like the standard Paula-Simon schtick that often crops up on these shows. But Hollywood Life claims exclusive sources have outed that a match might just fall onto the powder keg tonight during the live two-hour finale.

In fact, producers allegedly expect ugliness.

"They legitimately despise each other, a source claims. "Carson Daly wanted them to talk it out, but they want nothing to do with each other."

Apparently, Levine wearing a "Team Xtina" shirt May 7 following a pre-show blow-up over Team Adam member Tony Lucca's choice of songs didn't mend fences. Levine reportedly may even hit the studio with Maroon 5 to redo their 2011 hit "Moves Like Jagger" without Aguilera's verse. Christina admitted when critiquing Lucca's country take on Jay Z's "99 Problems" that she didn't care for the line "99 problems but a b***h ain't one," deeming it "derogatory."

Levine begged to suggest during his own critique that Aguilera had missed the line's point.

"The 'b***h' ain't one is life getting at you, things bringing you down," Levine said. "We're not referring to women, we're referring to everything.

"It's called a metaphor..." Levine snarked on the air when Aguilera interjected and (correctly) pointed out that Jay Z's original complete line is "If you're havin' girl problems, I feel bad for you, son/I got 99 problems, but a b***h ain't one." Levine followed his correction with doffing his button-up and revealing his "Team Xtina" shirt.
