Will Tom Cruise Appear in 'Star Wars?'

Dream come true, or worst nightmare?

Tom Cruise is rumored to be appearing in the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode VII."

The "Edge of Tomorrow" star has been hanging out in London lately, and according to an insider, he's been meeting up with pal JJ Abrams and the "Star Wars" production staff to discuss a cameo role.

Abrams and Cruise recently worked together on "Mission: Impossible 5," and reportedly hit it off as work buddies.

There has also been extra time to play with the script and slip in a part for Cruise, as veteran "Star Wars" actor Harrison Ford was injured on set when a door on his character's ship fell on him and broke his leg.

"Losing Harrison is going to set things back a little scheduling-wise, and there's some time to play around with," said the insider.

Ford completed surgery to repair his leg last Saturday, and will begin rehab shortly.

"He is doing well and looks forward to returning to work," Ford's rep states. While rumors have Ford out of the picture for about six months, reports from the studio assure fans that the movie is still on track to be released as scheduled.

That is Dec. 18, 2015, for those marking their calendars.
