USA's 'Political Animals': Watch Two Preview Clips
by Andy NeuenschwanderThis Sunday, July 15, is a big premiere night as "Breaking Bad" begins its fifth and final season. But there's also a brand new show premiering in that Sunday 10PM time slot that should be getting some attention: USA's "Political Animals."
The new show is only a miniseries for USA, but is already getting a bunch of buzz. Perhaps that's because of the impressive cast, which includes Sigourney Weaver, Carla Gugino and "Shameless" alumnus James Wolk, or perhaps its because of the politically charged subject matter in an election year. Either way, it could be big for USA, which has found some success lately with its one-hour dramas like "White Collar" and "Burn Notice."
The show centers on former first lady and current Secretary of State Elaine Barrish, played by Weaver, who must deal with a recent divorce and her scandal-prone family in the tricky political landscape. Weaver's character, as you might guess, is loosely based on Hillary Clinton.
USA has released two preview clips from the premiere episode, which you can check out below. Both feature Sebastian Stan as T.J., Elaine Barrish's gay son.
