TLC Cancels 'Honey Boo Boo' After Reports of Mama June Dating Child Molester

TLC has swiftly and decisively canceled all remaining episodes of "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" following a report that the family's matriarch, Mama June, is dating a convicted child molester.

Photos of June with Mark McDaniel at a hotel party have emerged, suggesting that the two might be dating. McDaniel served a decade-long sentence in prison after he was convicted 10 years back for forcing oral sex on an 8-year-old girl.

Mama June immediately denied the dating rumors, even releasing a video today to state once again that she and McDaniel are not a couple.

However, TLC has decided not to take any chances, canceling the show outright despite still-strong ratings.

The network had shot a new season of episodes that were set to air this year or next, but given the news, none of those episodes will air. That only makes the financial hit for TLC even bigger, as they're sitting on a season of already-shot footage.

"Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority," TLC reps said in a statement. "TLC is faithfully committed to the children's ongoing comfort and well-being."
