Will 'Thor' Star Chris Hemsworth Join Kristen Stewart in 'Snow White and the Huntsman?'

The race to be the first "Snow White" movie in theaters is heating up! It seemed for a while that the Lily Collins and Julia Roberts version was in the lead, but the Universal adaptation "Snow White and the Huntsman" with Kristen Stewart has a possible ace up its sleeve: "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth.

The title role of the Huntsman has been a difficult one to fill, as both Viggo Mortensen and Hugh Jackman have both been offered the role but never ended up signing. Universal is now setting its sights on Chris Hemsworth, who has enjoyed a huge opening weekend with "Thor."

Of course, approaching Hemsworth now makes things difficult for Universal once again. Hemsworth will be in high demand now after turning in a great performance in the latest superhero flick. His schedule might not be the easiest to work with either, as "The Avengers" is in the works and "Thor 2" is also being considered.

Should Hemsworth join, he will star as the Huntsman along with Stewart as Snow White, Charlize Theron as the evil queen, and Sam Claflin (who will appear next in "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides") as the prince.

Hemsworth is still only in negotiations, and will probably have his pick of any number of projects now that people have seen him put in a great performance in a high-profile film. Should Universal land him, though, that could push "Snow White and the Huntsman" past the...other Snow White movie.
