This Is What the Teletubbies Sun Baby Looks Like Now

One of television's greatest mysteries is now solved.

Okay, so maybe it's not really one of television's greatest mysteries, but nobody knew who the baby in the sun on the "Teletubbies" TV show was until today.

As it turns out, 19-year-old university student Jess Smith was the giggling baby who played the face of the sun on the show, and now she wants to let the world know.

"So I’ve recently celebrated my 19th birthday and after a lot of thought, I’ve decided it’s time to tell everyone. I used to hide it but after a lot of encouragement from my friends at university, I’ve gained the confidence to come out with it," Jess wrote on Facebook.

"I am the sun from Teletubbies. There has been quite a few people pretending to be “the sun” but only I could tell you the real story. Everyone says they can see the likeness between my face now and me as a baby. I still have a baby face. I haven’t changed much either. I am still giggly."

Jess' claim to fame seems to be legit, as she also has a letter that the producers of the show sent to her parents for her audition for the role, which said that they would be "re-imbursed for your traveling expenses" and that baby Jess would get a Teletubby-themed gift.

"It was just something a bit different to do and we didn't expect it to be as big as it was," said Jess' mother, Anji Smith. "They just sat her in front of a camera and she just laughed and smiled at her dad. We didn't hear anything until we got a letter when she was 18 months old saying she'd been picked."
