This 'Game of Thrones' Theory Could Change Everything

This 'Game of Thrones' Theory Could Change Everything Caution: If you're not caught up on "Game of Thrones" or don't want to hear what might end up being a spoiler, stop reading now!

We've talked before about a fan theory about "Game of Thrones" that answers one of the series' biggest mysteries: Who is Jon Snow's mother? But this new theory takes that one even further, potentially giving Jon Snow a new uncle.

The Jon Snow theory suggests that Ned Stark's bastard isn't actually Ned Stark's bastard, but is actually half Targaryen. The new theory adds to it by suggesting that none other than Tyrion Lannister is also a Targaryen.

How could this be? Well, as the stories go, King Aerys Targaryen was a little infatuated with Tywin Lannister's wife, Joanna, and even made comments at the wedding that he wished he could have traditional first bedding rights. So, if Aerys followed through on his obsession, he may have gotten Joanna pregnant.

This seems to be bolstered by much of Tywin's attitude toward Tyrion. On the surface, he's angry because Joanna died giving birth to Tyrion, who has turned out to be something of a disappointment in Tywin's eyes. But Tywin's hatred seems to run even deeper than that; and you can bet he would be eternally pissed if the child that killed Joanna wasn't even his own.

Furthermore, when Tywin refuses to make Tyrion lord of Casterly Rock, he says, "Since I cannot prove that you are not mine." This could just be a dig at Tyrion, or it could be a suggestion of Tywin's suspcions. Additionally, some of his final words to Tyrion are, "You are no son of mine."

Another interesting point: The saying goes that a Dragon must be "born of blood." Like Tyrion, Jon and Danaerys' mothers also died giving birth to them.

There's also the matter of the prophecy given to Danaerys in the House of the Undying: "The Dragon has three heads." Dany has three dragons, but that's a bit obvious for a prophecy, isn't it? It could be that the prophecy was telling Danaerys that there are two other Targaryens out there: Tyrion, who would be her half-brother, and Jon Snow, who would be their nephew.

This could have big implications in Westeros, as the Targaryens have birthrights to the throne if you don't see Robert's rebellion as a legitimate way to take the kingdom. Whether Jon, Tyrion and Danaerys choose to ally or fight against each other, though, remains to be seen.
