Is This the Biggest 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire' Fail Ever?

Whoops.

We've seen a lot of game show fails in our day, including the recent instant classic "surf clay where we go." But this one, from the Australian version of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," might be the most embarrassing one we can remember.

Whitney Beseler was on the very first question of the night, which is always a throwaway meant to give the contestant an easy question to answer at the top of the show, when her quest to become a millionaire ended.

Beseler was asked which of the four choices was not a type of jewelry worn to symbolize a relationship, and her answers were "engagement ring," "wedding ring," "anniversary ring" and "burger ring."

Beseler went with "anniversary ring," and that was the end of that.

But she took it all in stride, and was able to laugh at her own mistake. "That is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me," she said.

We're guessing that Beseler fell victim to the classic blunder and misread the "which is NOT" part of the question. Still, one would have to assume that the words "burger ring" would stand out to her.
